curry, the mekong , turantula wine...4real...
...woohooo I', in Vietnam, yay, cant wait for the morning so can say a particular phrase!!! Hellish!! :)
So Sun we went to a locals for dinner, it was amazing..absolutely gorgeous food, curries etc. Yeehaarrr!! Then tried turantual wine-omg sooooooooo strong...he brought it out in this container that holds 70 of them and then got one out (it was dead or absolutely hammered)! Got a pic of that.....
Then we went to some bars and played some pool and I got to bed at 2am....had ansum sleep and up again at 10 (my first lie in)...
So we got to the harbour and Greg's visa was incorrect so there was a kerfuffle at the embassy and then we had to leave him behind :(
The boat trip lasted about 5 hours and was awesome, speeing down the Mekong, looking at the life, took some pics but they will never compare to the actual experience-what an awesome feeling, sat in the sun with a smoke...speeding along, bliss......
We had to get off the boat on the Cambodian side and I got bitten by an ant-ouch, that side was fine, omg to the Vietnamese side was hectic...some border guy was on the boat and all angry "get off the boat" (thought I wasin Russia the way I was ebing spoken to hehe) and it docked on like a hill so had to leap off onto the mud bank and then got harrassed by a load of kids...argh...then we had to go to about 5 different places and then go back to the boat, get all our big bags out and put them through a scanner wilst some scetcy guy took photos (??!!) wtf?
So.finally, docked at Chau Doc and the uys went on motorbikes up to Sam Mtn and I chilled at the hotel as tum was bit iffy.....
Then last night we went out on different cyclos (ur practically eating ur knees) to a locals house for food and a beer (I think it is Saigon here in 'Nam).
Up again at 5.50am and then a 8 our bus journey into Ho Chi Minh (HCM) oh and 2 ferries, everybody off, everybody on and so on..at least could smoke on the ferry hehe. On the us I got everyone playing the "today I went to the market" game...was well funny, the list was turantula, korean kid, polish hotdogs and oter random tings....hellish!!
So 2.5 days left. Been out with Greg this afternoon for an earl grey and chocie cake (bliss) and got some snacks for the morn as off to the Cu Chi tunnels at 8.10am...yikes, cannae wait and I hope to shoot some guns too..yeeharrr!!! See me go....new profile pic in the making me thinks. Then my final night and then fly 7is Thurs eve so will probably ust pop down the market Thurs morn to get a 'Nam t-shirt.
HCM-omg, to cross the road, you walk and the motorbikes just weave around you, I'm not joking, its well scary...omg, ust crossed 2 on me tod..argh....

Turantulas...buses...russian markets....
...tis all go I tell eeee....
So Sat morn was on the road again 8ish after a cracking sleep and stopped a few times along to the way to Phenom Penh. The second stop, well as you got off the bus there was a lil girl trying to sell a live turantula..it was on her arm...lots of them in the market, loose. Also fried ones.
So we had a quick and scetchy look around and it was quite horrendous, filthy etc. So we got back on the bus and Long had bought deep fried crickets, deep fried turantula and a LIVE one..again loose, so then that was on the bus too...ermm.....
We stopped after 30 mins and set him free. Then everyone was trying the spider and cricket-not me though....eeewwww.....gross.....
So we arrived in PP and had a nice picnic in the open air. We then got to the hotel and then went out on cyclos, omg, no road rules at all and loads and loads more cars in PP than SR!! Hellish!!! Pretty hectic, we then stopped at the Reunification Monument and a market opposite the Royal residence.
So...toDAY HAS BEEN HARD AND I CANT TURN THE CAPS LOCK OFF, I THINK IT IS STUCK, SORRY!!! we argh, turned it off...we went to Toul sleng first which is S21 from the Khymer Rouge days...very very horrific, an old school that was used as a prison during the war, very hard images etc and the conditions they lived in, well lets just say that I am now a bit more prepared to Auschwitz now....will do a good explanantion on fb pics!! We then moved on to the killing fields (Choueng ek) which again was horrendous-you are literally walking on mass graves, clothes and bones sticking out of the ground. The torture that these guys went through was horrific and has now made me want to do a lot more research into it.
This afternoon we went to the russian market where I got a traditional Khymer scarf and an ansum fake Louis Vuitton bag!! Yay!!
I got a tuk tuk back on me tod as wanted to do a nice long update on here and try and call mum :)
2nite wer are off to some locals house to have dinner and then tomorrow off on a nice 5 hour speedboat trip down the Mekong into Vietnam. There is talk of nightclubbing tonight, oh dear-its Mongolia all over again isnt it? Hellish.
I am really really enjoying myself and the longer I am away the more and more I want to stay and travel more...I just love it so much, the freedom you have and the experiences you gain, what your eyes see and what you taste, hear, everything, ist awesome!!! :)
I am one happy H!!

A floating petrol station???????
hehe so am back in the hotel, leave at 8.30am, its 8.50pm now and have been up since 4am...
Tomorrow we travel 5 hours to Phenom Penh (PP) by bus (not plane) and I think that is when I am gonna be terrorised by the terantulas!!! Argh.....
So this afternoon we went to the Lake (cant remember the name-will be on fb photos) and saw the floating village. Absolute madness...a floating petrol station, school complete with basketball court, houses, pub....hellish!!! Took a lot of getting your head around. Also saw a crocodile farm.
The boat ride was excellent, really chilled. :)
Then en route back we went and lay in hammocks with an Angkor beer and watched the sunset....awesome. What an absolutely amazing day....
Perfect and still have more of this magical country to come and Vietnam, woohoo!!
Proper ansum nice and sorted!! I am LOVING this.

Sunrise at Angkor Wat and the jungle.
Woohooo hello everyone, am loving this, proper ansum nice.
So was up at 4ish after about 3 hours sleep and went to Angkor Wat (AW). Lotsa people there and saw the sunrise, wasnt the most spectacular sunrise have ever seen but was awesome to be there, was pitch black when got there and had to climb up and down small scetchy steps..argh.
Got some unbelievable piccies which I cant wait to show yáll!! :)
Got one with AW in the pic and also reflecting off the lake...gorgeous!! :)
Then after that we had b'fast which was ansum (in the shadows of AW) and got hassled by the usual gorgeous Khymer kids. So so cute! :)
Then back into AW and I buggered off on me tod and went and sat by the lake, bliss, listening to mp3 and doing a bit of stomping around.
Then went to Ta Prohm (from the Tomb Raider film) and again was packed but got some cool pics of the trees growing in the temple...WOW and wee-wah-woo-wah....
Yay so en route into TP we went through the jungle...saw spiders, ants and trekked around for a bit, what an experience.
Back at hotel now and offski to the floating village in a bit-the hospital and all is floating, hellish, then off to some rice fields to sit in hammocks and have a beer and watch the sunset, yay, I bloody love this.
What a way to start 2009, thanks btw to everyones kind msgs, texts, emails etc..you know who you are.
Lotsa love
